Events Noticeboard

The Club organises a number of social functions throughout the year. These include:

  • cheese and wine evenings
  • pop quizzes
  • parties etc.
  • fireworks nights
  • discos
The frequency of these events depends on the time and enthusiasm of the members to organise them.
Suggestions, assistance and new ideas are always welcome.

 

     Racketball coaching & taster session

We are holding a 5 week coaching course for racketball beginners, starting from September. A FREE taster session is being held on Thurs 9th Sept from 10am-12pm. Equipment will be provided. Click here to read more.

 

 

     Abingdon member to do charity bike ride for England Deaf Squash

Abingdon member Brian Rawlinson is taking part in a mountain bike ride across The Ridgeway to raise money for England Deaf Squash. The aim is to raise funds to send the England Deaf Squash team to New Zealand to defend the Men's World Deaf Team Squash title last won in 2007.

     Abingdon junior member selected for England

Abingdon's Joe Brooke has been selected to play for the England boys U15 team in the Home Internationals next weekend 9th April in Edinburgh against Wales, Scotland and Ireland. Joe was ranked Number 4 in England in the U15s at the last set of rankings and may be higher in the new April rankings.

 

The Committee would like to extend their congratulations to Joe for such a great achievement. Well done Joe!

 

     Abingdon member wins World Squash Masters Title

An Abingdon Squash Club member has become champion in his age category in the World Masters Games Championships in Sydney. Brian Phillips (who also plays for the Harwell mens teams) won the 70-74 age category in a 3-2 victory.
